Prof. Dr. Celso Henrique Soufen Tumolo
Prof. Dr. Celso Henrique Soufen Tumolo is an associate professor at the Department of Foreign Language and Literature, as well as at the Graduate Program in English (PPGI), at Federal University of Santa Catarina – UFSC, state of Santa Catarina, in Brazil. His major was in education, from UNICAMP. His master’s and doctoral studies were at the Graduate Program in English, at UFSC.
He was a visiting scholar at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in 2003 and 2004, at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in 2013, with research on general digital resources for foreign language teaching and learning, and at University of Houston, in 2014, where he sought to research the contribution of digital educational video, more specifically Digital Storytelling for educational purposes, working at Laboratory of Innovative Technology in Education – LITE, College of Education, University of Houston.
He teaches, among others, the course ‘Technologies in Learning and Teaching’ at PPGI, for both master’s and doctoral students.
His research interests are in educational technology, and in the integration of information and communication technologies (ICT) in education. More currently, he is interested in the contribution of multimedia material to the cognitive and affective factors involved in promoting language development.
